Academic Advising

Personal guidance on future or current steps to take academically help put you in the right place to have the most success once you begin a new chapter in your academic career. The knowledge/advising obtained from these one-on-one academic advising is priceless. As a student we don’t always know the next steps to take to insure we are successful or we do know but simple just need a push in the right direction to get us back on track.

Field Trip

These field trips offered help get young students started thinking about their future and what they want to do with our life. Being able to experience first-hand what it like to be at a specific college or in a particular field of work helps give them an idea if that’s where they want to be at in the future and work towards that.

Academic Advising

Help getting financially prepared especially with something like college is a huge task. Often students assume if they don’t have the money straight out of their pocket to pay for college that it’s something that’s not for them. This is not the case with our support provided we can help guide your students to resources and places to obtain scholarships/grants to help with paying for college. With the Dream Teams support college is obtainable for everyone.

Personal Experience:

Middle School: Dream helped me in middle school by helping me develop good habits to carry onto high school when it comes to my academics/social life. These habits were taught to us through monthly workshops and advising meetings. Also career based field trips helped get us started thinking about our future and what it is that we wanted to start working towards in life.

High School: Dream Team probably helped me the most in high by preparing me for college. They helped me get a head start in my college credits by providing courses offered at my high school by bringing professors over from Aims. The best part was the courses offered were completely free to us students. This allowed me to enter college with 27 credits giving me a head start without spending a single dime on classes. Also, the college-based field trips helped us decide where it is we wanted to start our next chapter in our education. Lastly the advising support provided with grades, scholarships, college applications, and many more things were priceless in my education.

College: Help I’m receiving now in college has been with scholarships opportunities offered. Also, guidance going over my degree works to insure I’m taking the right classes to ensure I graduate on time. Lastly help with filling out my FAFSA to ensure I received financial aid if needed has been a great help. College being that I’m more self-dependent I have needed less help but its nice to know its available if needed.
